The COAST (1).png

Welcome to my page. I am happy to introduce my services for support workers and counselling for private clients and NDIS participants.

If you are looking for a counsellor on the Sunshine Coast who will work with you through previous life experiences, any current concerns and who can assist you in moving forward with a goal focused approach, then contact me today. I work within a person centred framework and support people with an active therapeutic approach to improved daily living.

My qualifications include:

  • Cert IV in Mental Health Support - 2008 Ballarat University

  • Diploma of Counselling - 2017-18 Australian Institute of Professional Counselling

  • Trauma and Affairs in relationships - 2018 Gottman Institute

  • Brief Solutions Therapy Level 1 - 2018 Brief Solutions Association Australia

  • Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) - 2019 Dr Russ Harris

  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) - 2021 Expressive Therapy Clinic

Within my own personal experience and recent working life I have supported behavioural diagnoses like ASD and ADHD in children and young adults. Earlier in my career within the mental health sector I gained experience with diagnoses such as bipolar, schizophrenia, anxiety and borderline personality disorder in adults. My life experiences grew into a desire to learn more about mental health, which ultimately led me towards a career in counselling.

I also work closely with support workers (independent and agency) providing debriefing, counselling, external supervision and coaching for improving service delivery. My qualifications along with my hands on experience as a support worker and service coordinator within the NDIS have grown my passion for providing support workers with someone to talk to. Whether it be debriefing at the end of a difficult shift, providing guidance in career decisions, or assistance with improving skills - I offer a non-judgemental and open approach! Having a safe space to discuss any work concerns you may have, not only allows growth and improvement of support workers, but in turn will assist in the longevity of the role.

I believe that the mental health and wellbeing of staff is one of the most important parts to the work itself, especially in the healthcare sector. Taking care of ourselves is vital and when we feel supported, heard and guided, the better the service will be that we provide participants!
